WEN Annual Luncheon: 40 & Fearless
Thank you for joining us at the WEN Annual Luncheon.
This year’s theme, 40 & Fearless, honored not only how far Women’s Employment Network has come, but the courage, resilience, and community that will carry this work forward for the next 40 years.
Because of supporters like you, the luncheon was more than a celebration. It was a reminder of what becomes possible when women are met with opportunity, encouragement, and a community that refuses to let them walk alone.
We were deeply moved by Sophia, who shared her powerful story with honesty and courage. Her voice reminded us that fear does not get the final word when women are supported and given the chance to rise.
We were proud to honor Aaron Mefferd of Aaron Mefferd Creative as this year’s Beth K. Smith Award recipient, recognizing his meaningful commitment to WEN’s mission and the women we serve.
And in one of the day’s most memorable moments, our own former VP of Programming, Lynnette Williams, came fresh out of retirement to remind us what fearlessness truly looks like when women have someone walking beside them. As Lynnette shared, “When women are supported, they lift communities.” That truth is at the heart of everything WEN does.
The luncheon may have come and gone, but the work is far from over.
In fact, it is just beginning.
The next 40 years of WEN will be shaped by bold vision, steady support, and a shared belief that when a woman gains confidence, stability, and opportunity, the impact reaches far beyond her alone. It reaches her family, her workplace, and her community.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for believing in this mission. And thank you for investing in a future where more women can move forward fearlessly, knowing WEN is walking beside them every step of the way.
