It All Begins with Training
WEN’s training program is uniquely structured to meet the varying needs and skill levels of women in all stages of employment: those who are unemployed, underemployed, laid off, new to the job market or seeking to re-enter the workplace.
WEN understands that achieving economic stability requires training and support at multiple levels. With a unique focus on personal responsibility and self-confidence, the training program offers a comprehensive approach that includes:
You'll meet with a Personal Support Specialist, Employment Services Manager, Financial Literacy Specialist, and Director of Program Services to discuss your strengths, concerns and barriers, and create a plan for success.
You will learn how to assess their unique skills, abilities and experiences, and package them into concise résumés that serve as a foundation for your job search. Your résumé will help open doors to interviews and quality job opportunities.
You'll prepare for and participate in mock interviews conducted by human resources professionals and managers who volunteer from area businesses.
You'll learn how to use a budget and keep to it in the Basic Money Management workshop. You will also attend the Credit Reports and Identity Theft workshop to better understand how your credit affects you, how to improve your credit, and how to protect yourself from Identity Theft.
You'll work closely with the Employment Services Manager to develop an individualized job search strategy that takes into consideration your needs and access to resources, and maximizes your efforts. You'll learn how to develop and use your personal networks, how to research employers, how to complete applications online and post your résumé to job sites.
