WBC LaunchU Grad Published in New Book

“Stuck. Stressed. Strained.” is a new book featuring a chapter by Rebeka Garcia Cook, WBC LaunchU gradute (class of 2018). Rebeka was the first entrpreneur in our Women Wednesday Entrepreneurs Series which began in May of 2020 when she hosted the webinar: "RE-OPENING KANSAS CITY - Creating New Business Norms in a Covid-19 Reality" (click here to view recording on WBC's YouTube Channel). Below is what Rebeka says about the new book, which was launched in early January.

"About a year ago, executive coach Kate Kerr (specializing in helping attorneys) invited me to contribute a chapter to a book she was compiling on mindset. She wanted to feature twenty stories to help people create change — but not just coaching — stories of how professional coaches shifted our own mindset!

We all have stories of how we’ve grown. And I’m glad to be able to share one of mine.
The book was released today and is called: Stuck. Stressed. Strained. Real stories about shifting your mindset to overcome challenges.

My chapter is entitled “My Enough Box.” In my chapter, I share how someone -like ME - can shift from a scarcity mindset to ENOUGH. Enough in what you have, what you do, and who you are.

Big thanks and congratulations to Kate for pulling this book together.

I’m honored to be featured with this distinguished group of change makers, including Neha Sampat, David Hamm , Lori Mihalich-Levin, Danese Banks, Regan La Testa, Yusuf Z. Zakir, Dr. Yashar, Kendra Brodin, Yuliya LaRoe, Monica Phillips, Donald Anthony Snead, Amy Friederich, Christy Freer, Roz Pitts, Drew Amoroso, and Rocky Galloway."

Biography for Rebeka Garcia Cook, MPH & Executive Coach at Green Boat Executive Coaching and Consulting

Guided by her background in research and public health, She takes a wholistic, evidence-based approach to change and growth. The following is from her website.

I’ve been helping people and communities reach their potential for my entire career. I’ve done it previously through my public health training and work as an epidemiologist (doctoral level) and as a behavioral scientist (master’s level).

As a coach, my clients are established executives, emerging leaders, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who want to reach their full potential and live in the fullness of life.

My goal is to help my clients grow wholistically and sustainably. Each of my clients is deeply connected to various systems (their work, families, communities, and society at large), and my passion is enabling them to flourish across all their systems.

As an epidemiologist and behavioral scientist, I’ve been involved in research (published multiple times in academic journals) but I gravitate towards practical application. I take an evidence-based approach to how I work with each client. I am also a skilled and experienced teacher – I’ve created and taught curriculum to multiple age groups in multiple settings. I’ve been involved in leadership development cross-culturally and internationally. I’ve started and created my own businesses, as well as worked in business from a young age. All of this experience enables me to help my clients and their systems flourish.

I look forward to taking you where you want to go: together we will get there faster and sustainably.
